Eric O'Grady, also known as Santa Ant-Man, was a morally ambiguous character in Marvel Comics. He initially gained possession of the Ant-Man suit designed by Hank Pym while working as a low-level S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.
Unlike his predecessors, O'Grady was self-serving and often used the Ant-Man powers for personal gain, including voyeurism and petty theft. His actions frequently contradicted the heroic ideals associated with the Ant-Man mantle.
During the "Secret Invasion" storyline, O'Grady reluctantly participated in defending Earth against the Skrulls, demonstrating a glimmer of heroism. He later joined Norman Osborn's Thunderbolts team, further blurring the lines between hero and villain.
Eric's Ant-Man eventually sought redemption, working alongside heroes and attempting to use his abilities for good, although his underlying selfish tendencies often resurfaced. He met his demise while trying to protect a child, taking a bullet meant for the child and finally dying a hero.
